Grading for guided and self guided walks E-mail
Our grading falls mainly two categories.  If you are an experienced walker and you have a good level fitness then you should have no problem with any of our itineraries.  However, if you feel that the excesses of Christmas still weigh heavily then the following guide lines are a little more specific.  Each holiday should also have a daily itinerary with the length of day and altitudinal changes included.

'Mediano' walking
You do not need previous experience for these trips, but you do need to be in reasonably good health. If you enjoy walking, and will be able to walk for 4 to 6 hours per day then these trips will be for you. Although these trips are not at higher altitudes, and you will have time to rest, remember that the terrain will not be flat and that you'll enjoy them even more if you've built up a little stamina!

A mediano route has you climbing upto 550 metres in a day that has 4 to 6 hours of walking.

'Avanzado' walking

If you have walked in the hills at home and are reasonably fit you will enjoy these trips, which will typically involve 5 to 8 hours walking per day. These trips might involve a day or two of harder and steeper walking, but generally walking conditions will be good.

A harder route may climb up to 1000 metres in a day lasting up to 8 hours.

On our guided holidays, the pace of the group is of course set by the leader, and will accommodate everyone from the fastest to the slowest on any given day.
