Walking Holidays in Spain - Frontier Holidays

Via de la Plata - September 2009 E-mail
This was one of the most enjoyable tours to date.  Good company, some great places to stay with excellent food and wine, and a countryside, green and fertile, that was a surprise to most.

Autumn is arguably the best time for tackling a walk in Galicia.  High up in the north west corner of Spain, it can be the wettest place around as Atlantic fronts roll in.  There may not be the colour of spring flowers, but September and October really are months of burgeon, when the fields and orchards are heavy with the harvest.

With a bit of luck, this is also a time when the temperatures are just right for walking, and the weather holds long enough for harvests to be collected and for the visitor to remain dry!

Callum Christie of Frontier Holidays has, after many years guiding on the Camino de Santiago, decided to look further afield from the traditional teeming Camino Frances, for a pilgrim route with a more traditional feel.
